Alanine Aminotransferase (ALT)

Indicates metabolic stress.

What it tests: A liver enzyme that signals when liver cells are stressed or damaged.

Why it is important: Often elevated in early fatty liver disease, which has become extremely common alongside modern metabolic dysfunction. Many people walk around with mildly elevated ALT that conventional labs flag as normal but that signals an upstream issue worth addressing.
