Estradiol (E2)

Regulates reproductive health.

What it tests: The most active form of estrogen, central to reproductive health, mood, bone, and brain function.

Why it is important: Shapes far more than the menstrual cycle. Estradiol affects mood, sleep, skin, cognition, bone health, and cardiovascular risk. In men, an unfavorable testosterone-to-estradiol balance often drives symptoms that get missed entirely.
